AXIS users can create and edit their own profiles, switching between profiles if required.
User profiles can help gain a better understanding of your audience, which you can utilize to deliver targeted user experiences on a per-profile basis.
Select a platform below to see how profiles work across the different AXIS apps:
Profile types
Three types of user profiles are available in AXIS:
- A standard profile that has access to all content (based on entitlements)
- A kid's profile that has limited access to content based on age classification (Parental Lock)
- And a restricted profile that requires a pin for access
Viewing and editing profiles
To view their profiles, users must navigate to the account page by selecting their profile icon at the top of their screen and scrolling down to the Profiles section.
Users may want to change their profiles. With AXIS, users can rename profiles, change the profile type, edit their restriction level, or delete a profile.
Note: Only users with a standard or restricted profile have access to the Account page.
Switching profiles
If at any point, your users wish to switch profiles, hover over the profile icon and choose switch user. If switching to a restricted profile, users are prompted to enter their 4-digit pin code.
Parental Lock
Preventing children from accessing age-restricted content is often a top priority for parents. AXIS allows your users to set a parental lock on items above a particular classification rating. Once set, users need to enter a pin code to view any content above a particular classification when using this profile.
How does it work?
Users can select a classification level under the Parental Lock section on their Account Settings page.
Once a classification level is set, the restriction applies across all profiles on the account.
Access is then restricted via PIN when watching content that is on or above the set classification level.
In the example above, the content is set to ‘R’ — meaning that all content playback for assets rated 'R' or above is restricted and requires a pin to access.
