What are bookmarks?
Bookmarks allow your signed-in users to quickly pin content from the item details page of movies, TV shows, and events so they can revisit it at a later date. Bookmarking content enables users to curate their own watchlist, which you can display in various ways within Presentation Manager:
Present bookmarked content in a row within a Home page. You may wish to rename this row to My Watchlist.
Present bookmarked content in a row within an Account page. You may wish to rename this row to My Watchlist.
Present bookmarked content within a menu.
What can users bookmark?
Your users can bookmark movie, TV show, and event assets from the relevant item details page.
How does it work?
When a signed-in user navigates to the asset's item details page, they have the option to select the bookmark button. When they do so, the content is added to the Bookmarks list in chronological order, which you can then link to via a row or menu content.
For non-signed-in users, the bookmark button appears, however on selecting it the user is prompted to sign in before the action is complete.
Movie bookmarks
In the case of movies, the bookmark feature appears as an icon or text button (depending on the device), next to the Buy/Subscribe/Download button. Selecting this adds the content to the user's bookmarked list.
TV Show bookmarks
TV shows, on the other hand, must be bookmarked by the show title, so instead of seeing a bookmark button next to each individual episode of a selected season, a bookmark button displays next to the show title.
Event bookmarks
For events, the bookmark button appears below the asset metadata – alongside the Watch Live/Subscribe CTA.
How do users access and manage their bookmarks?
How bookmarked content is displayed is entirely up to you. Whether it's presented within a row on the Home page or displayed as menu content, selecting a bookmarked asset redirects the user to the relevant Item detail page.
The bookmark list gives your users access to all their bookmarked content in the order in which it was added. While on the item detail page for bookmarked content, users can choose to remove the bookmark for individual movies, TV shows, or events.
