Overview

We've made several changes to the platform including updates to support the display and publishing of linear content, enabling the upcoming delivery of release 5.0 of all Reference Applications.

What's new

EPG3 - Channel list - On now

We've added a new row type to display what's currently being aired across a list of channels.

CH2 - Channel schedule (16:9)

The CH2 Channel schedule (16:9) row type received a cosmetic update and a few new properties.

What's changed

We have also made some minor configuration changes to rows and page types in AXIS 8.0: 

  • The TB2, TB3 and TB4 row thumbnails now reflect that they display assets in a single line, rather than two

  • The Title fields for the PR1, CS1, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, and XH1 rows have been removed in AXIS as this field is not displayed in the Reference Apps

  • The TX1, CH2, CHD2, EPG3, H6 rows have been unmarked as lacking reference apps support and are now ranked normally in the list of available rows. On the contrary, A2, A3, A6, and A99 are now marked as lacking support and ranked at the end

  • The H8 row has been removed and will no longer appear as available for Home and Category page types

  • The use of the LH2 row is now allowed for the List detail page type

What's fixed

Presentation Manager

  • Deal can now be configured to allow subscription ownership with StreamOrDownload delivery type

  • Edit date period form in page scheduling no longer becomes uneditable after entering and erasing a value in the end-time hour field

  • Start date in edit date period form in page scheduling is no longer pre-filled with the current date

  • Renaming a page variant after creating it now works in Safari

  • Sign out from the Change Password page no longer shows errors

  • Sign out from the Users page no longer shows errors

  • Row templates in choose row type dialogue are now aligned evenly in Safari

  • Group field in new segmentation Ttg editor is now correctly marked as required

  • Grey block no longer shows under the keywords field in list filter editor when multiple keywords are selected

  • Deleting a list entry with a filter of type Title starts with... no longer shows errors

  • Deleting a list entry that has no filters no longer shows errors

AXIS API

  • Fixed a bug that caused the entitlement period to end early for some content

  • Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented the ingestion of items

Upgrade notes

This is a major AXIS Platform release with several breaking changes to internal plugins and platform configuration - please do not upgrade your platform before testing and migration of customer-specific plugins in a staging environment.

As this release contains breaking changes to internal API contracts and some end-user-facing API hosting infrastructure, please expect the upgrade process to require some minor modifications at a project level.  Our recommendation is to set up and upgrade affected components in a parallel production environment rather than migrate infrastructure configuration manually. 

No breaking changes were made to the public API contracts - the apps are not affected by these changes.
