Overview
This release contains OOTB AXIS sports functionality, including new metadata types, pages, and row types. This follows changes implemented in the AXIS 9.0 platform release, and asset metadata enhancements introduced as part of AXIS 9.1.
What’s new
We’ve introduced sport functionality for Roku. New pages and row types, supporting real-time event lifecycle states: upcoming, live, and past, are now available to showcase your dedicated sports assets.
New sports pages
Discover and interact with dedicated sports pages via three new page types.

1. Confederation detail page
Showcasing the new confederation asset type, this page lets users view and interact with sports confederation details. It supports OOTB analytics for user behavior tracking.

New and updated sports rows
The following row types have been developed to showcase the new sports assets. They support the configurable display of asset metadata, as well as OOTB analytics for user behavior tracking. Read our sports rows article to find out more.
SHCF1 (16:9) Confederation hero
Asset metadata is left-aligned over a wallpaper (16:9), alongside the confederation's logo.
- Configure whether to display or hide sport metadata
SHC1 (16:9) Competition hero
Asset key metadata is left-aligned over a wallpaper (16:9) and competition logo.
- Configure whether to display or hide sport, confederation, and season metadata
SHE1 (16:9) Event hero
Assets or related assets key metadata and actions are left-aligned over a wallpaper (16:9), alongside the event logo.
- Configure whether to display or hide sport, competition, stage, and round metadata
- Initiate live and on-demand video playback with the Watch button
- Save the asset for later with the Bookmark button
STV2 Events (16:9)
A vertical list of live and upcoming event asset tiles (16:9) from the same confederation or competition.
Note: On the Event detail page, the STV2 row presents as a horizontal list, as shown in the second image below.
- Initiate playback for live events
- Navigate to the event detail page for near-future events
- Configure whether to display or hide stage/round and competition/stage metadata
- Define the maximum initial tile display (up to 24). The Show more button displays additional events
ST1 Stages (16:9)
A single horizontal scrollable row of upcoming event fixtures (16:9) within a competition.
- Display row title, badge, and tagline
- If additional assets exist, a View All button redirects users to a list page
ST3 Events grid (16:9)
A double row of horizontal event assets (16:9) displaying all past events within the asset’s related competition.
Note: On the Event detail page, the ST3 row presents as a single, horizontally scrolling list, as shown in the second image.
- Configure whether to display or hide stage/round and competition/stage metadata
- The Show more button displays if additional assets exist
- Control the display of the stage selector, which allows users to filter events by a specific stage
STV3 Events (16:9)
A vertical double list of live and upcoming event asset tiles (16:9) from the same confederation or competition.
Note: As with the STV2 row, the STV3 row presents as a horizontal list on the Event detail page, as in the second image below.
- Display the event title and tagline.
- The Show more button is shown if additional event assets exist
- Initiate playback for live events
- Navigate to the event detail page for near-future events
Live playback
The Watch page supports full-screen Live playback, asset titles, and descriptions, with a Back icon redirecting users to the event details page. The scrub bar (progress indicator) remains fixed to the live point, displaying elapsed playback time.
What's changed
Resume point parity
Resume points are now set consistently across all platforms. Users can continue watching VOD content from the point they stopped playback, whether this is on the same device, or when signed into their account on a different device.
What’s fixed
- EPG1 - Fixed a bug that caused an incorrect program schedule to be displayed if the app was opened after midnight
- CH2 - Fixed a bug that prevented the Category page from being displayed when navigated to
- CHD1 - Fixed a bug that caused a previous asset’s metadata to still be displayed when the next asset had started playing
- CHD1 - Fixed a bug that caused the pause icon to display on the PIN screen
- CHD1 - Fixed a bug that allowed a video to play behind the asset image while the PIN screen was presented
- Fixed a bug that prevented users from resuming the viewing of videos that are available under a current subscription
- TVC3 - Fixed a bug where a video was not playing as expected after a user had entered their PIN
- EPG3 - fixed a bug that caused the channel list not to appear on the home page
- CH1 - Fixed a bug where a user was not taken to the channel detail page after clicking the Watch button
- Fixed a bug that caused the hamburger menu not to respond when an item was selected
- Fixed a bug that caused focus to move from the hamburger menu while navigating the app, preventing the menu from being closed
- An error is now displayed in the app if a user tries to register a new device when the maximum device limit has already been reached
- CHD1 - Where a parental lock is in place, both the channel and the asset classification are now checked before the PIN entry screen is displayed
- The Back to top button on the home page now takes users back to the top of the page
- CH1 – Fixed a bug that caused metadata to be missing from an on now asset
