Assets are your catalog of video and non-video content. Each asset contains metadata (including images), offers, and an internal reference to a video file if applicable.
AXIS supports multiple asset types that display in rows in the Reference Apps. How they display will depend on the available metadata, the selected row type and how it's configured, and the user’s app.

What are season assets?
Season assets are an entertainment asset type that allow you to present a defined group of episodes to your viewers. Seasons are represented by the icon in Presentation Manager.
Season asset metadata
Record metadata against your season assets and configure it to show users information about the season in selected rows. Different row types and devices will determine what information users will see in their app, as will any configuration settings you apply.
Metadata fields available for season assets include:
- The title of the season
- The season number, to determine the order in which the assets should be listed
- A full or short description of the season
- The cast and crew (personas) involved in the season
Have a look at our asset metadata article to see the full list of fields available for season assets.
Displaying seasons in rows
Use selected pages and rows to promote your season assets to viewers in their apps. The show detail page supports multiple row types, such as the D1 (seen above), D2, and D3, that are optimized to display all episodes in a season in different formats. Users can navigate to a specific season and select an episode to watch or to find out more.
Read more about these, and other options, in our article on pages and supported rows.
With asset relations defined between your season assets and other asset types, use list rules to promote additional content to users based on their interests. This could be other shows featuring personas they’ve followed, or trailers for future seasons.
